JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL.
AGITATION IN MASTERTON. Masterton, Dec. 28. For over three years, since Mr J. Caughley (Director of Education) addressed a jmblic meeting in Masterton, there has been an agitation for the establishment of a junior high school in this district. Quite recently the matter was again vigorously sponsored by prominent educationists, but was deferred. It has now' been taken up again, and at a meeting of the Wairarapa High School Boarti of Governors a resolution was unanimously carried that: “Having heard the statement of the Minister of Education at the break-up ceremony last week, the Board reaffirm its previous request that a junior high, school be established at Masterton, and requests that tho Minister and Director of Education will, on the earliest possible occasion, visit Masterton to confer with a full meeting of representatives of educational institutions in and about Masterton, and the parents of pupils with a view to reaching an agreement. ’ ’
