NEEDY SCHOLARS’ PRIZE. New York, Dec. 13. Mr John D. Rockefeller is to-day the proudest man in America. His grandson. John Rockefeller Prentice, has won the Yale Universiay scholarship for students needing financial assistance. Tlie award has revealed the fact that Prentice decided some time ago to make bis own way in the world and not to call on the family’s millions for assistance. He has been working as a telephone operator at £2 10s a week, and has not received a penny from his parents for five years.
