JOB CONTROL.

ANOTHER FLAGRANT CASE. Melbourne, Dec. 2G. The delay in connction with the Manuka at Melbourne was the eighth out of eleven sailings. It was again due to job control, the vessel being delayed while the f firemen argued, sang and fought on the decks. It was a most glaring and unpardonable case of job control, and represented serious loss to the company. Six firemen were missing at 4 o’clock, but four of them returned intoxicated at 5 o’clock. They decided to leave again, accompanied by other firemen. All returned to the ship by 7 o’clock with the exception of one fireman, who was replaced by another man and the vessel sailed.
