The Dominion Aleteorologist telegraphs as follows for 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:—Westerly moderate to strong xvinds. Expect warm and sultry xveather. Cloudy and overcast yt times. Barometer unsteady.

At the Hastings railway station on Saturday (Boxing Day) 1'385 tickets were issued to passengers for Napier and 157 tickets to Waipukurau. In addition, the motor traffic on the roads was very heavy, both to and from Napier and Waipukurau.
