Hursthouse is the agent lor Hercules oil engines. The usual weekly dance will be held in the Hastings Oddfellows’ Hall on Saturday evening. Westerman and Co. desire to extend to ail their friends and patrons their best wishes for a happy ’Xmas and a prosperous New Year. The Presbyterian Sunday School picnic will be held at Mount Erin on Boxing Day. The times of starting are set out in the advertisement. Greetings I Messrs Baird’s, leading drapers and mercers, desire to thank their friends and the public generally for their generous support during the ’Xmas shopping period, and wish one and all a very happy "Xmas and a bright New Year. The Salvation Army picnic on Boxing Day promises to be one of the largest Army functions ever held in Hawke’s Bay. Five ’busses will be running, and there will be a long list of races and a baby show. Father Christinas will also visit the picnic. There will be paddling pools, games, etc. The public are invited by an advertisement which appears elsewhere in this issue. Mrs. Wilmot, who specialises in the making of loose covers and cushions and the re-covering of eiderdown quilts, has found it necessary in order to cope with her increasing business, to remove to more commodious premise-. Mrs. Wilmot has taken possession of the shop recently used by the Dental Clinic, in the Municipal Buildings, and with the additional accommodation at her disposal is now able to execute all orders entrusted to her.
