OTIRA’S STRANDED FIREMEN.
COMPANY’S GENEROUS OFFER. London, Dec. 22. '1 he Australian High Commissioner has decided to discontinue supporting the Otira’s firemen and is not prepared to repatriate them. The Shaw Sayill Company has offered to reimburse the Commonwealth the money already expended and to contribute £1 weekly towards their future maintenance pending shipment. While repudiating responsibility lor repatriation, it is willing to co-operate in securing employment on their return to Australia. —(A. and N.Z.)
