Heavy Fighting Expected TIEN-TSIN ISOLATED. PROTESTS AGAINST JAPANESE ACTION. (By Cable—Preen Aeaociation—Copyright.) (Received 22, 11.10 a.m.) Pekin, Dec. 21. Feng YuH-siang is strongly reinforcing Kuo-min-chun army at Peitsang. It is reported that Chang Sung-chang has sent a column to assist Li Chunglin. Heavy fighting is expected shortly. The coldest weather is prevailing. Know Sung-ling is advancing, and the Fengtienites are falling back. Tien-tsin is completely isolated telegraphically. As the result of a mass mooting in Hankow the Chinese telegraphed Yoshigawa in Pekin protesting against the despatch of Japanese troops to Manchuria. Chinese students in Japan likewise protested to the Japanese Foreign Office.

The Japanese report that a Russian steamer landed 700 cases of rifles at Canton.
