WELLINGTON MEAT EXPORT COMPANY.
Wellington, Dec. 19. | It is learned that Messrs. Thomas Borthwick and Sons’ offer for the purchase of the Wellington Meat Export Company’s business, which was accepted by an extraordinary meeting of • <haroholders yesterday, was £200,000. The totals assets, according to the latest balance-sheet, were set down at £680,583. including, land premises and plant at Ngahauranga, Horokiwi, Alicetown, Waingawa, Kakariki, Marton, and other freehold proper! ms, £301,845; sundry debtors £42,480, consignments £204,600, stocks and appropriation account £56,958 It is estimated by some of those at the meeting that if the sale is consummated the shareholders will receive about 8/- in the pound.
