A SATISFACTORY POSITION. | New Plymouth, Dec. 10. I “It is a pleasure for me to state that the public finances to the end of November show satisfactory results, though it is yet 100 early to indicate the probable position at March 31 next,’’ said the Hon. AV. Nosworthy here to-night. For the eight months • of the year ended November 30, elimi- ; nating thO railway figures, now in n ’ separate account, the revenue was £12,052,810, compared with £11,064.491 in the same period of 1924. The increase was principally in Customs revenue. Expenditure again eliminat- ( ing railways, for the eight months amounted to £13,428,035, compared with £13,070,175 in the same period of 1924. Mr Nosworthy said a large propor- ' tion of the Dominion local loan had been received. The State Advances Office would now he in a position to deal satisfactorily with arrears. By March 31 next the office should be near normal.
