WEEK-END EXCURSIONS.
WOODVILLE TO NAPIER. On response io efforts made by Mr. John Mason, A1.1’., and the Napier Thirty Thousand Club, the Railway Department has decided to give weekend excursion trains from Woodville to Napier a trial, which will extend over a period of four weeks—the last two weeks in January and the first two in February. The excursion tickets will be available by ordinary timetable trains from Woodville. The Dannevirke faros will bo: First-class return 15/5, second-class return 10/6. NAPIER TECHNICAL SCHOOL. BOARD OF GOVERNORS. The monthly meeting of the Board of Managers of the Napier Technical School was held yesterday afternoon. Present; Alessrs. T. W. Bear (chairman). A. Y. AlcCarthy C. J. Jarvis, t. Pallot, 11. Pottle, R. ( . Wright. G 11. Cooke, and Mrs. R. C. Wright. Air. John Mason ALP., informed tho Board that in connection with the new school site lie had interviewed the Minister, and the latter had promised to meet those interested in Napier during his visit here next week Air. J. Caughlev. Director of Education, wrote advising tho Board that the question oi establishing a junior high school in Napier was to be gone into very fully bv the Government shortly. The Board passed a resolution to the effect ihat it would not in any way approve of a junior high school being attached to a high school The Director of Education wro<* informing the Board of the fees to ho charged by the controlling authorities and technical school boards for night schools for 1926. The director also informed tho Board tlmt a subsidy on voluntary contributions towards tho cost of a gramophone had been approved
