TO-DAY’S RACING. WOODVILLE MEETING OPENS. Woodville, Dec. 9. The Woodville summer meeting; opened in glorious weather. The attendance is large and the track fast. Results :— Manga-atua Hurdles.—Many Colours 1, Merry Singer 2, Uncle Dave 2. Won by five lengths, a neck between second and third horses. Time, 2.50. Trial Plate.—First Division: Black Mint (Keesing) 1, Pardon 2, Bank Draft 3. Scr: Golden Egg and Joy Bird. Won by half a length. Second Division: Kilbrowsyth (McCarten) 1, Windbag 2. Lampyre 3. Scr: Trance and Touchwood. Won by three lengths. Woodville Handicap. — Clarinda (Burns) 1. Olympic 2, Kilfaire 3. Scratched: Arch Salute. Won by a length, a length between second and third. Time ,2.7.

Hack Flying.—First Division: Sleet (Rosen) 1, Lin Arlington 2, Joy Bird 3. All started. Won by a head; half a length between second and third. Time 1.15. Second Division: Blue Jay (Hugh) I, West broke 2, Penman 3. Won by half a length, same distance between second and third. Time 1.14 1-5. MARTON J. C. SUMMER MEETING. Nominations for the above meeting, to be held on the Feilding Racecourse on Friday and Saturday, Ist and 2nd January, close on Friday next at 9 p.m. with the secretary at Marton. The stake for the Stewards’ Welter Handicap is £250, and not £2OO as printed in the “ Weekly Press,” and on the club’s programme. Two-year-olds are also eligible for the Junction Plate of 5 furlongs, on rhe second clay.
