ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(Per Press Association). Robert Keith Gulliver, son of L. E. Gulliver, of Alereniere, Taranaki, was drowned in an open pit near his parents’ residence yesterday afternoon. An empty motor lorry, driven by the owner, Boyd, was struck by a train at Pctone level crossing. The lorry was badlv damage I. Boyd had stopped while a shunting engine passed. lie then had bis attention fixed on a train mt ho <ii y. so that ho ilid not notice another train coming from the Hutt on the down line, though on becoming aware oi it he swerved, Lut it was too lute to avoid a collision.
