Winter Steeplechase Meeting SECOND DAY S EVENTS. FINK WEATHER—LARGE ATTENDANCE. With good acceptances the Napiei Park Racing Club’s winter meeting should have a successful conclusion today. There is a larger attendance that yesterday, and th© totalizator figures promise to show a good increase when totalled up. The racing track is drying last, and good times should be registered. HUNT CLUB STEEPLES, A cup, value 2Ugns, with 100 sovs added, for first horse, 20 sovs for seconu horse, and 10 sovs for third. Two miles. Mr. F. Jensen’s Birkenella (H. Gordon) 1 Mr. P. F. Wall’s Ethiopian (Walls) 2 Mr. F. A. Wither s Silta (A. Tricklebank) 3 Scratched: Luke and Chatham. Woj, by 10 lengths, 20 lengths lie tween second and third. Time, 4.30 4-5. There was,good support for Kovno Gay Bobbie ami Curve, the other.' >eing well down the betting list. When they settled down Silta, Ethiopian and Clay Bobbie were running in that order. Ethiopian and Silta were togethei rounding the far bend, where Kovno fi'll. Passing the stand, Ethiopian. Silta and Birkenella were in that order. Along the back stretch the order was much the same. Birkenella got over the hencoop first, followed by Silta. who fell, hut was remounted, gaining third place.

Purseproud caused trouble at the post and was left when the tanes wen released. Kilmere was the early leader from Alabama, Polyphemus, and Jubi lee. Kilmere, Alabama and The Strand were first into the straight, hut Mann tai came fast and. in a good finish beat Kilmere. The Strand getting third money.

When they let go Merekara, Garzon and General Carrington were in that order passing the stand, while Birka was in front of a bunched lot. Killian fell at the hurdle entering the back. Along the back stretch Many, Colours, General Carrington, and Birka were in that order. Coming to the last fence, Many Colours and General Car dington were on even terms. Many Colours then drew away, but General Ca» rington put in his challenge, just failing by a neck. Birka was fourth.
