Cyclonic conditions are ruling on the east coast. According to the Government meteorologist the cyclone is of an extensive nature and one of the worst experienced for years. Yesterday it centred at Rockhampton, then moving south. Heavy downpours have already been ex;>erienoed in Sydney and along the coast. Flood warnings hav© been issued. Coe*uU shipping is affected. The ixiuis Theriault, bound from Newcastle to T© Kopuru, put in to Sydney tor shelter. The outlook for tbe football match is not bright. Brisbane, June 20. Torrential rain, accompanied by wind which at times reached eye lonic force, caused considerable damage in southern Queensland. Many houses were unroofed, creeks and rivers are rising, and low lying land is inundated. LIGHTSHIP ADRIFT. Wellington. June 20. The Secretary of tlie General Post Office advises th© following warning broadcasted from the Brisbane radio at 5.30 this morning:— “Spit Rock light extinguished, one of the buoys is showing a green light in Freeman’s Channel. “Moreton Bay reported that the Breaksea spit lightship is adrift and moving in a south-easterly direction. She was last seen four miles southwest of the charted position. Vessels sighting her are requested to report any change in her jxisition to the deputy-director of navigation, Brisbane. and state if the conditions are favourable to anchor the lightship ot take her in tow 1 .”
