ACROSS THE TASMAN.
FLIGHT ARRANGEMENTS.
The question of Government assistance for the proposed trans-Tasman flight was raised in the House of Representatives again on Thursday by Mr. V. H. Potter (Roskill) who asketl if there was any chance of some monetary contribution being made. He said that the American fleet which was to visit these waters proposed to make the attempt, and surely the honour of the first flight should be British. The Minister of Defence (Sir Heaton Rhodes) said he had received a further communication from the promoters of the flight, asking for £lOO and the approval of the Government. . He had asked what approval was required, and when he received a reply would be prepared to bring the matter again before Cabinet.
