The Under-Secretaryships and other offices will probably bo announced tomorrow. Mr. Churchill’s appointment has created a sensation in political circles, and despite Air. Austen Chamberlain being appointed Deputv Leader of tho House of Commons tho Chancellor’s proximity to th© Premier has badly impressed th© Di© Hard Conservatives. Sir Samuel Worthington-Evans, Secretary of State for War, filled that office in the last Unionist Government, and held several Alinisterial posts during the war. He sits for the Colchester division of Essex. Sir Philip Lloyd-Greame. ALP. for Hendon division of Middlesex, was formerly Secretary of the Overseas Trade Department, and was Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade in 1920-21. He served in the Army from 1914 to 1917.

Sir William Joynson-Hicks, Home Secretary, member for Twickenham division of Aliddlesex, has been chairman and member of many Parliamentary committees, and connected with a number of public movements. Lord Cave, who becomes Lord Chancellor, was appointed a Lord of Appeal in 1919. He was Solicitor-General in 1915-16, and Home Secretary from 1916 to 1919. He was raised to the peerage in 1918. Lord Salisbury, Lord Privy Seal, has long been associated with Conservative Ministries. He was Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs from 1900 to 1903, Lord Privy Seal 1903-5, and President of the Board of Trade in 1905. Lord Curzon of Kedlestone. Lord' President of the Council, was Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in Air. Baldwin’s previous Cabinet, and prior to that was Lord President of the Council. He was Viceroy of India from 1899 to 1905.

Sir Arthur H. D. Steel-Maitland, Minister of Labour, was Joint Parliamentary Under-Secretary for the Foreign Office and the Board of Trade from 1917 to 1919, and previously for the Colonies.

Lord Eustace Percy, President of the Board of Education, is M.P. for Hastings. He was formerly in the diplomatic service. He is the seventh son of the Duke of Northumberland.

Mr. D. M. Hogg, K.C., Attorney General, held that office in the previous Conservative Afinistry. He is At-torney-General to the Prince of Wales. Al.r A. Neville Chamberlain. Afinister of Health, is member for Lady wood

division of Birmingham. He was Director-General of National Service in 1916 and 1917.

Sir Kingsley Wood, who becomes Minister of Agriculture, ’was formerly private secretary to the Alinister of Health. He sits for Woolwich West.

Lieut.-Col. Sir John Gilmour, Secretary of State for Scotland, has been member for the Pollok division of Glasgow since 1918, and previous for East Renfrew, was Junior Lord of the Treasury in Air. Baldwin’s last administration. He served in the Great War.
