HAAGEN HOLENBERGH, A PIANIST.
RECITAL IN HASTINGS.
The Hastings Women’s Community Club has been fortunate enough to arrange a pianoforte recital on Wednesday evening next by Haagen Holenbergh, the eminent Danish pianist, vhr ’ short visit to
who is at present on a short vit New Zealand. Mr Holenburgh is spoken of by the foremost critics of Scandinavia and of Canada, where he has recently been touring, as a pianist of the highest rank, and he has had recent phenomenal successes in some of the world’s capitals. On several occasions he has enjoyed th© honour of being called upon to play to their Majesties; King Christian X. and Queen Alexandrine of Denmark, who have paid him the greatest compliments for his playing. Mr Holenbergh’s repertoire is very extensive, including standard works from practically every ancient, romantic, and modern school, tie was recently introduced to Christchurch at the Orchestral Society's concert in September, when the “Sun” spoke of him as “unquestionably an artist of the first rank. 0
Admission to tho recital on Wednesday night will be by subscription only, and ad particulars may be had from members of the Women’s Community Club committee, or by ringing telephones 285 and 490. A recital will be given on Tuesday night at Woodford House for pupils of that school and of Lona College. The number of subscribers to the Hastings concert will be limited to 300*
