ARMISTICE DAY.

CEREMONY IN LONDON. WREATHS ON THE CENOTAPH. (Received 7. 8.50 a.m.) London. Nov. 7. the Prince of Wales, and th© Duke of York will place wreaths on the Cenotaph on Armistice Day, as will also the Dominions. THIS YEAR’FoBSERVANCE. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, Nov. 6. Armistice Day. Tuesday next, is tn be observed as in past years by two minutes’ silence. A cablegram received by His Excellency the Governor-General from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, a copy of which has been sent by the Government to all local bodies, states:— “His Dlajesty has approved the following arrangements for the observance in this country of Armistice Day, November 11: (1) A short service will be held at the Cenotaph on the lines adopted in previous years including the hymn “O, God, Our Help in Ages Past.’ His Majesty the King will be present and will lay a wreath. (2) Two minutes’ silence will be observed ot 11 a.m.” Local authorities in this country will be asked to arrange for the suspension of all vehicular traffic for two minutes from 11 a.m.. but rail and water transport will not be suspended. OBSERVANCE IN HASTINGS. The residents of Hastings and district are reminded that in accordance with the expressed desire of the King, there will be a suspension of normal busiues? throughout the British Empire, during two minutes’ silence on Armistace Day, Nov. 11th, commencing at 11 a.m.
