A LIVERPOOL HOAX. London, Nov. 4. Threo unknown men rushed breathless into the lodging of Mr Hughes, leader of the Liverpool Communists, saying Mr Hughes had been arrested. They demanded secret books and papers “to prevent their falling into the hands of the police who were following on their heels.” The housekeeper unsuspectingly permitted their removal. Mr Hughes has appealed to the police for their recovery.—(Sydney “Sun” cable).
