HASTINGS PLUNKET SOCIETY.

The usual monthly _ meeting of the Hastings Plunket Society, was held at tho rooms on Tuesday last. There were present: Miss Williams (chair), Mesdames J. H. Williams, T. E. Crosse, S. Vyner. H. Holderness, C. Stubbs, E. J. Hallett; W. Meads, H, de Denne and E. V. Simpson (lion, secretary). The nurses’ report for October, submitted to the meeting, read as follows:— Hastings:. New cases 19, visits to home 238- visitors to office 615. expectant mothers 2. letters received 20, letters written 23. Waipawa: New cases 1. cases under care 88, visitors to office 112. Waipukurau: New cases 4, cases under care 79, visitors to office 123, advice over telephone 3. A vote of thanks was passed to the Orphans Club, for their generosity in in organising a concert for our benefit, also to the “Hawke’s Bay Tribune” for their sub-leader on the eve of the annual Plunket Shop. Mrs. H. de Denne and Mrs. C. Stubbs were appointed visiting committee for the ensuing month. Subscriptions were acknowledged with thanks from the following:—Mesdames T. R. Thompson, R. Wright, F. Jameson. C. R. West, W. P. Beck, Fitzgibbon- D. E. McLeod.
