ALLEGED CIVIC CORRUPTION.

THE SYDNEY ALLEGATIONS. Sydney, Nov. 4. At the Cropley inquiry Cropley was severely cross-examined in regard to giving his original statement containing the allegations against aidermen to the press. In reply to a question how much one paper offered him for the story. Cropley indignantly said, “Nothing.” In reply to a question Cropley said he had never been approached by any member of the Labour party in the City Council. He also said he would not have made his statements in the press if he had not been attacked by one aiderman in a council meeting.
