MISCELLANEOUS CABLES.
Ten men were entombed at the Craft iron ore mine at Bigrigg. Cumberland, owing to a fall of rock. Two others escaped uninjured. The rescuers have so far failed to establish communication with those entombed. The Japanese Government, which previously decided, for economy, to abolish the post of commercial attaches abroad. doe s not see its way to alter its decision, notwithstanding agitation for the retention of those officers, according to a Foreign Office announcement. The report of the Board of Trade, as the result of an inquiry held under the Monopolies Act into the roofing tiles industry, has been tabled in the New South Wales Assembly. The Board expressed the opinion that certain companies mentioned in the report did combine to monopolise the trade in roofing tiles and accessories with intent to control the supply or price and that such combination still existed., The Attorney-General Mr. Bavin, said that the question of whether any proceedings should be taken had been referred to th e Crown solicitor. He did not think it desirable for him to say anything in the meantime.
For the purpose of covering losses caused by tne insurrection the council of the Bolshevik executive committee in Georgia confiscated the property of th© Menshevist Government &nd Assembly. who participated in the recent insurrection.
