Zinovieff Letter

(Received 5, 9.10 a.m.) London, Nov. 4. “The “Daily Chronicle” understands that the Cabinet committee, being satisfied with the authenticity of the Zinovieff letter, is now trying to discover how tho press secured a copy. The following facts have been established :— There Were three or four letters of a similar character despatched from Moscow carried by special messengers. The Communist headquarters received one and the Foreign Office received another on October 10th. One of the letters was Landed to a very prominent Conservative ex-Minister on October 22nd on the occasion of the marriage of Mr. Rudyard Kipling’s daughter. This was released to the press by. the Conservative headquarters. The Foreign Office was informed on October-24th that the letter had been handed to the press. The Foreign Office immediately released it with Mr. MacDonald’s letter, which had been prepared for such an emergency. The committee has discovered how the letter reached the Conservative exMinister.—(A. and N-Z.)
