SUPREME COURT.
SENTENCES AT WELLINGTON. Wellington, Nov 3. In the Supreme (.ourt David William Fisher, aged 18. who took £2OO and gave his ailing wife a holiday in Australia and who on returning, committed a second theft of a minor character, was sentenced to six months’ reformative treatment. The Chief Justice, Sir Robert Stout, said that he could not grant probation on account of the second offence, but he gave as light a punishment as he could inflictFrederick Charles Moody, puiity of indecent action towards a girl whs sentenced to one year’s imprisonment. His Honour said that the case had been one of grave trouble to him and he could not possibly grant probation in face of what was happening in New Zealand at tho present time, although accused’s case presented exceptional characteristics.
