In order to raise further funds for the building of the Mahora School swimming baths the school committee has arranged to hold a popular concert and dance recital in the Municipal Theatre on Friday, November 14th. Miss Phillips has in preparation a splendid programme of dainty dances, and leading amateurs will give of their best. Popular prices—two shillings and one shilling—will be charged, and it is anticipated that the theatre will be crowded to the doors. Attention is directed to the great choral event advertised for next Friday night, November 7, in the Municipal Theatre, Hastings. This promises to be the best performance of choral work that has ever been produced in Hawke’s Bay. Th© following well-known vocalists have been engaged: Soprano, Miss Teresa McEnroe; contralto. Miss Mina Caldow: tenor, Mr; Sidney Butler; Bass, Mr. W. Watters. Mr. H. Temple White, of Wellington, will condcct the Hastings performance. Lovers of music should nook their seats early, as a full house is anticipated. The box plan opens at Don’t Ltd. for subscribers on Monday morning at 8.45, and for the general public on Tuesday morning.
