At the wool sales the general competition and keenness of the demand were unabated, and prices were equal to the higheest of the series. Greasy merino touched 39|d, greasy crossbred 31d, scoured 60jd. There have been heavy clearances daily. WHEAT CARGOES QUIET. London, Sept. 23. Wheat cargoes are quiet in sympathy with the American decline, but closed fully steady. Parcels are in fair request. BRADFORD TOPS. On the Bradford tops market business is quiet and quotations firm. WAIPUKURAU STOCK SALE. The associated auctioneers -report having held their weekly sale at Waipukurau vesterday. when they offered a good yarding of cattle and a small yarding of sheen to a large attendance of the public. The cattle yarded were mostly in low condition, but sold at prices slightly in advance of previous sales • Sheep, of which the offering wa s principally hoggets sold well.
