Green, bacon curer, inserts a notice that he is entering the employ of Henry Duckitt and Co., Port Ahuriri. and pigs addressed to him at theip factory will receive his personal attention.

Messrs. Hoadley. Son and Stewart Ltd. draw the attention of the public to their Longlands stock sale to be held on Thursday next, when they will offer a good yarding of both sheep and cattle.

Hoadley. Son and Stewart, instructed by Mrs. Arthur Bellamy, will sell her property, on Tuesday, September 30th, together with house, cottage, looseboxes, car shed, etc., also implements, sundries and household furniture. A grand plain and fancy dress ball will be held under the auspices of the Clive Progressive Society on Thursday, September 25th, commencing at 8 p.m. Invitation holders are requested to note that cash prizes of £1 1/- each for lady’s and gentleman’s best fancy dress will be awarded. The fancy dress parade will be held about 9 o’clock.

Every class of summer material is represented in the comprehensive display of ladies’ frocks at Baird’s, leading drapers and mercers. Amongst the washing frocks are ginghams, crepes, voiles, georgettes, linens, delaines, cotelenes and washing silks. For the more elaborate toilet a striking array of stylish model gowns, from the leading London and Paris houses make a supreme selection assuring satisfaction. The attention of the public is drawn to the land sale being held at Te Te Awanga to-morrow when T. Cunningham and Co will sell 20 seaside sections in the qstate of the late W. J. Douglas, and also two seaside cottages. full details of which are advertised on page eight of this issue. A 'bus will leave T. Cunningham and Co.’s office at 1.30 pun. for the site of the sale. Hoadley. Son and Stewart Ltd. will sell at their Longland’s saleyards on Friday next, commencing at 10.30 a.m.. a large number of horses of all classes, including 14 draught mares and geldings. 5 to 15 years on account of Mr. P. Harin, Kaiwaka, and six medium to heavy draughts on account of Mr. B. O. McCormick. Waipukurau. A large quantity of contracting material, including metal drays, horse scoops, ploughs, harness etc.', will "also be offered.

A meeting ■of lady members and friends of the Parkvale Progressive Society will be held in the Parkvale School grounds to-morrow afternoon at 3.15. Arrangements will he made for the various stalls to he held at the shop in Heretaunga street on Saturday, and reports of canvassing discussed. A full attendance is desired Members are urged to roll up and make the final effort for the swimming pool a success.

At noon to-morrow at the premises. Stanley street, Waipawa, Messrs. Hoadley. Son and Stewart Ltd., instructed by the trustees in the estate of the late J. M.
