(Own correspondent). On Wednesday next a farewell social is to bo tendered to Miss Pollard, who, for a number of years lias been in the telephone exchange. Miss Pollard has been organist in the Presbyterian Church and has been identified with all local efforts and will be greatly missed by the community. Presentations are to be made by the telephone subscribers and by the members of the church, and the presentations are to be made by the Rev. F. Robertson. The committee extend a cordial invitation to all interested to be present at the function, which will be held in the Town Hall. On Saturday afternoon Arbour Day celebration will be held in the Recreation Grounds. The school children are taking a very keen interest in the matter, and it is hoped that there will be a good muster of parents and friends present.
