INQUEST OPENED. (Per(Press Association.) Wellington, August 2. Th© inquest on the Dixon street fatality was unexpectedly opened before th© due date to hear the evidence of Vivian Perkins, of Morrinsville, brother of the bride. He was sitting on the fatal car with the driver when the car lumped forward. The lattoY tried to apply th© hand brakes, but' they failed; then he used the. foot brake with effect. Witness said he knew nothing about cars, but his impression wag the driver knew his business and did his best. He was quit© sober.
