LADY ASTOR’S PORTRAIT. (Received 30 2.15 p.m.) London, July 29. The unveiling in the House of Commons’ corridor picture of Lady Astor’s introduction to the House aroused the liveliest opposition, and a large petition is being signed urging the Speaker not to permit the hanging of portraits of living members without the sense of the House being taken.— (A. and N.Z.)
