NOT A SUCCESS.
OLYMPIC GAMES MISMANAGED,
(Received 30, 11.5 a.m.) Paris, July 29. Newspapers acknowledge the Olympic Games were not a success, and the general management’s errors in organisation are severely criticised. It appears to be generally agreed that the games are too long drawn out, and it is suggested a more severe qualification test should be set competitors with a view to eliminating all those whose certified achievements ar© not truly up to th© Olympic standard. Th© number of competitors would thus b© reduced to a quarter, obviating delays and ensuring superior quality of sport.—(A. and N.Z.)
