TO ACQUIRE HOMES. (Per Association.) Dunedin, Julv 30. At a special meeting of the Returned Soldiers’ Association lengthy, resolutions were passed expressing the opinion that the intention and spirit of tho Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act were to enable a discharged soldier to acquire a home when his particular individual, requirements warranted it. The meeting, therefore, urged the Returned Soldiers’ Association to press for the re-opening and continuance of tho benefits of the Act to qualified discharged soldiers, more particularly in the matter of re-advances from repayments continually being made® under th© Act. It was further decided to present a petition to the House of Bepresentatives on this issue.
