ANZAC DAY.
EXCHANGES OF MESSAGES. Wellington, April 29. An. Anzac Day greetings telegram as follows was addressed by the General Officer Commanding the New Zealand military forces to General Sir William Bird wood. Commanding the Northern Command, India, General Godlcy, Commanding the British Army on the Rhine and headquarters of the Commonw’ealth Military Forces Melbourne: — “New Zealand Forces send kindest greetings aud remembrances of Anzac. —General Melville.’’ The following telegram was received from the president of the 2nd Battalion Australian Imperial Forces Association: — Second Battalion A.I.F. Association convey Anzac greetings to Gallipoli comrades. , To this tne fpllowing reply was despatched:— Your Association’s kind greetings heartily reciprocated by their New Zealand comrades.—Melville. The following further telegrams have been received: — (1) From headquarters Commonwealth Military Forces, Melbourne:—“Kindest greetings and remembrances from Australian Forces to New Zealand comrades on the anniversary of Anzac Day. —Defence. (2p From General Birdwood, Lahore: —“Greetings and remembrances to all old comrades and people of New' Zealand for Anzac Day.’’
