The first football match played at Patangata on Saturday afternoon resulted in a win for Patantaga by 12 points (four unconverted tries) to 11 points (three tries, one being converted). O. Page scored twice and kicked th© goal and J. Reid scored once fpr Otane. th© latter winning the jersey presented by Air. Barrie to the Otane player scoring the first try. The local team is light but has the makings of a very fast team and with practice should do well in the competitions.
