LONDON MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., |have received tho following cablegram from their London house, under date 7th instant:—

New Zealand frozen meat.—Lamb: 10 3-8 d per lb. (average); market weak. Mutton: Wether and maiden ewe, light <Sd per lb, heavy 7-|d; ewe, light 6£d, heavy 6|d. New Zealand dairy produce.—Butter: Choicest salted 180/- to 181/- per cwt; market slow. Cheese: 8(5/- to 88/- per ‘cwt; large supplies, CLEARING SALE. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having held a clearing sale of tho property and stock in the estate of the late J L. Sterry, saddler, Waipukurau. The property was passed in, as it did not reach the executors’ idea of value. The stock of the saddler’s shop was sold without reserve, hut owing to the large number of lots, however, it was found necessary to postpone the sale, and the balance of tho goods, comprising all kinds of saddlery and general harness goods, will be offered on Tuesday next, the 18th inst., commencing at 1 p.m. sharp.

STORTFORD LODGE STOCK SALE

Tho Associated Stock Auctioneers report having held their usual weekly sale at Stortford Lodge yesterday, when they n small yarding of cattle and a good yarding of sheep. Owing to the inclemency of the weather the attendance was not large, but the greater part of tho entry was sold as under:—Prime bullocks up to £9 8/-, fat do. (light) £6 2/- to £7 10/-, fat cows £5 to £6 15/-. 3 and 4-year steers £3.1/- to £1 .12/-, 5-yqar ewes 8/- to 30/-, 6-year ewes 10/- to 13/-, 1, 6 and 8-th. ewes 19/-, 2-th ewes 16/9 to 20/9, 4-th weths 21/-, 2-th wethers 21/- to 24/3, woolly m.s. lambs 12'- to 18/10, shorn bus. lambs 10/6.

Wallace and Co., report: The market is well supplied with cooking apples. Well coloured dessert are in short supply. The demand is keen. Pears and stone fruit are wanted. The following values are ruling:— Apples: Cox’s 8s to 9s 6d; others 6s to 7s; Jonathan fancy 6s 6d to 8s 6d; others 5s to 6s; Delicious fancy 9s to Ils; others 7& to 8s; other desserts 5s to 6s; cooking varieties 4s 6d to ss. Pears: L.B. J. 10s to 12s; B.D. Capiamonts 6s to 7s; Josephine 7s to 8s; Marie Louie 6s 6d to 8s 6d; Clairgeaus 5s to 6s; Fertility 6s to 6s 6d; Conference 7s 6d to 8s 6d; Winter Coles 10s to 12s; Vicars 5s to 6s per bushel. Hutt grapes: Is 4d to Is 6d; Nelson Is to Is 3d. Tomatoes: Firm; Hutt’s 5s to 6s. Cape gooseberries: 5s 6d to 6s. Peaches: 6s to 6s 9d. Egg fruit: 8s 6d. Quinces: 7s to Bs. Potatoes: Ils to 12s a cwt. Onions: 10s a cental. Cucumbers: 2s 6d to 3s a banana case.

Many orchardists who cool stored William Bon Chretiens and Louis Bon Jersey have realised as much us 15s to 17s 6d per case.
