JUDGE MEETS OLD SCHOOLMATE.

Sydney, Feb. 15

Schoolboy friendship interfered with the legal case in the Court of Appeals to-day.

Mr John Rolin Brown, recently a councillor of the Kuring-gai Shire, had entered an appeal against the conviction and fine upon him at North Sydney Police Court in November for alleged cruelty to an animal. \\ hen the case was reached to-day Judge White looked at the appellant, and remarked. “Oh, 1 won’t take this case—] used to go to school with Mr Brown.”

The case was therefore adjourned till next week for hearing before another judge.
