Cabinet to-day granted £35,000 towards the cost if the e.ection of new laboratories tor physijogy,’ anatomy and other su'jec.s at tne Dun. din medical schools. Th s sum is in addition to the g.ant of £2O 000 made last year, giving a total of £55 000 which will enable the ac.epcaiice of a tender for the enterior "’o' a building. The inter.or fittings will equire further expeuoiitu.e, p obably in about 15 months or two yeans/, when the shell has been completed. Otago University’s applcati n for £30.000 for a new dental schocl at DunecXn was postponed owing to the fact that the Senate w.ll disiuss the Minister of Education’s pcp ?sa s that two out of the four years’ dental course at Dunedin may be taken in other centres- If the Senate is of the same opinion, less accommolatioin will be required at Duneflin.
