QUARREL NEARLY SETTLED. CONCESSION BY THE GOVERNMENT. (Received 13, 9.20 a.m.) London. Mar. 12. The "Daily Express’’ says the dispute between the Pope and the Italian Government is about settled. The Pope w ill no longer consider himself a prisoner in the Vatican. The terms include that the Government will surrender the whole of the Vatican Hill and build at its own ex p ‘use a series of houses for the College of Cardinals who are now scattered throughout the city. In return the Holy See -will hand tho scattered pro-, perties to the Italian Government.

The League of Nations will guarantee the independence of the Pope.—(A. and N.Z.)
