RECOVERIES LN NEW YORK.
New York, Mar. 11.
The exchange adversities gave way to remarkable recoveries, notably the sterling, which gained over four cents, reaching 429, while the franc reached 8 3-10 cents, gaining nearly half a cent. Continental exchanges revealed a sympathetic buoyancy, gaining an average of ten points. It is understood the franc’s recovery is due to a 50,00,00 dollar emergency loan made by Mr Pierpont Morgan and British interests. —(A. and N.Z.-<
