CAPSIZE OF A MOTOR CAR

MAN KILLED AND FOUR INJURED.

Christchurch, March 11. A motor car containing five piersons was upset near Coalgate yesterday owing to a tyr© blow out. Richard Bolstad wa s killed outright and the others were rendered unconscious. Th© injured were: Herbert Hern, slight concussion; James Salt, broken wrist; W. B. Bolstad, abrasions to th© right thigh and bruises to the chest; Hans Bolstad. injuries to th© left hand, lac© and knee.

It was reported to-day that Salt and Hern were progressing favourably. Hern underwent an operation and his condition lias considerably improved. Salt’s condition i s not considered serious.

I A PREMATURE EXPLOSION. i THREE MEN INJURED. Dunedin, March 11. David McMillan, William Cox and ! William Mclntosh, employed at th© I Dunback lime kilns, were injured by an I explosion of powder in a quarry this morning. They had set a charge and were passing in front when the rock blew out on them. Th© men had to be transported by motor ambulance 40 miles to Dunedin Hospital. The extent of the injuries is not known. ONE VICTIM DEAD. Dunedin, Mar. 12. i William Ernest Cox!, aged 25, one of | the victims of the Dunback quarry accident, died in. hospital this morning.
