(Received 6, 9.10 a.rn.j London, March 5. “The Times” learns irom trustworthy sources in Moscow that Rykoif, the Soviet President, whose departure lor health reasons to the Caucasus was ostentatiously published iu Soviet newspapers, actually left for Berlin incognito. The journey must be recognised a« a very characteristic symptom of the present weakness and confusion among members of the Soviet Government.
The correspondent recalls a receut speech by Kyxoff, when he urged upon tiie Government that it was urgently necessary to invite non-party men who had proved active supporters of Soviet rule during the last six months to fill responsible posts in the Government, which declaration, together with Rykoff’s secret journey, is regarded as a sign that the Soviet appreciated its weakness and is striving to enlist the active support ot prominent .Russians living in Germany and elsewhere. — (Times.) RYKOFF GOING TO LONDON. (Received 6, 8.55 a.m.) Berlin, March 4. It is reported that president Rykoff passed through Berlin en route to Bri tain —(A. and N.Z.) BRITISH CREDITS SOUGHT. (Received 6, 9.10 a.m.) London, March 5. The “Daily Express’s” Moscow correspondent states that Russia is seeking £150,000,000 credits in Britain to be used exclusively for economic reconst ruction. —( Ar gus.)
