ONGA ONGA. The annual prize distribution to the pupils of the Onga Onga public school took place in the Town Hall on Tuesday afternoon. The children rendered several items, which were heartily appreciated. Miss 1. Cossar, probationer, who is entering college, was presented with a gift from pupils and staff as a token of esteem. Miss Bncknell, of London, relieving teacher, was also the recipient of gifts from the pupils. A gold medal awarded to Mrs.. Herbert White was presented to Roy Rasmussen, as dux of the school. ST. PATRICK’S. WAIPAWA. There was a large attendance of parents and guardians of the scholars of St. Patrick's on Friday on the occasion of the annual distribution of prizes. A most pleasing programme of songs and recitations was given by the pupils. The Rev. Father Minogue congratulated the Sisters on their year’s work, and the children on the manner in which they had supported their teachers. He also thank&l the donors of prizes for their assistance. TAKAPAU. Mr. N. M. Paulsen, chairman of the scliool committee, presented the prizes prior to the senool breaking up on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Paulsen, who donated the dux medal, congratulated the winner, Isobel Hevward, and exhorted all to work well, attend well and be loyal to their school. Mr, W. Cuthbertson also addressed the children and paid a welldeserved tribute to the work of the chairman in the efforts made for the welfare of the school. Cheers were given for the teaching shaff, for the donors and for the chairman and members of the school committee. Gooseman), Albert James Goodall Special prize for second in Std. 6 (presented bv Air. A. J. Kirkham), Jean Kirkham. Garden plot competition (presented by Air. W. Warwick), first prize.
