REJUVENATING A RACEHORSE.
INTERESTING EXPERIMENT. SPOILED BY ACCIDENT. (Received 6, 9.55 a.m.) Paris, Dec. 5. Ayala, the famous Belgian racehorse, aged 24 years, died on the operating able while Voronoff was rejuvenating him. The horse took the anaesthetic badly and death was due to violent resistance during which he fractured ihe pelvis. This was not noticed by the surgeons, several of whom wore present and internal haemorrhage was caused by a splinter of Bone piercing a vein,' which ended fatally. The gland had been removed from the young horse, Quakeridge, prior to the tran£ ier whep it was discovered Ayala had stopped breathing.—(A. and N.Z.)
