MAN KILLED AT PORT.
CRUSHED BY BALES OF WOOL. Frank Ellis, a married man, who lived on the Parade, was killed at Port Ahuriri yesterday when several bales of wool fell on him off a truck. Elli's, who was employed as a driver by Barry Bros., had backed a tractor and a truck loaded with bales of wool into the store. After taking the binding ropes off the wool, Ellis began to uncouple his tractor, when the bales crashed to the ground. He died before the arrival of Dr. W. D. Fitzgerald. After the body had been identified, the inquest, which was opened last evening before the Coroner (Mr R. W. Dyer, S.M.) was adjourned till Monday next.
