WOMAN FATALLY SHOT.

SAD HAPPENING AT TIMARU. Timaru, Dec. 5. A young woman named Ida Evelyn Johnson, aged 23, residing at Albany, died in the Tiuiaru Hospital to-night as the result of a gunshot wound in the abdomen. Prtieulars are at present unobtainable. It is believed a younger sister was playing with a gun, which, unknown to her, was loaded, and that the rifie went off, the shot lodging in the abdomen of the elder sister.
