TARADALE CLUB. C FIRST ROUND FOR RIVERS’ CUP. The first round for the Rivers’ Cup was fired on the range at Taradale on 2 Saturday afternoon. Owing to the C overcast sky and heavy showers, the conditions for shooting were unfavour- h able, the light being very bad. The 1 second round will be fired next Saturday afternoon. A trophy presented by Mr A. Rowe will also be shot for. Resuit:— 3

A trophy presented by Mr A. Golding for an amateur handicap was won by A. O’Dowd. i OKAWA CLUB. On Saturday the final of the second £ series was shot off, the conditions 1 . being 10 shots at 500 and 600 yards- . ; The weather at times was very unfav- , curable, changing light ami a gusty rear fishtail wind upsetting some" pro- j minent marksman’s scores. Some good individual range scores were, however, : registered, Rflm, W. West putting on ■ 46 at 500 yards, and Dep.-Pres. Jones and Rflm N. Mackersey both registering 45 at 600 yards. It was a good ; shoot under trying conditions. The A class trophy was won by Dep.-Pres. ■ Jones with 176, Rflm. N. Mackersey winning the B class trophy with the splendid score of 181.
