DAIRY PRODUCE CONTROL.
CANDIDATES FOR THE BOARD. Invercargill, Nov. 17. A large and representative meeting of dairy farmers held to consider selecting a candidate for the Control Board for Southland endorsed the selection of Mr. J. Fisher by an overwhelming majority and pledged itself to further his candidature at the poll. A further resolution supporting the nominees selected by the Dairy Council was carried. The Southland branch of th© Farmers* Union also supports candidates chosen by the recent Council meeting. SUPPORT OF THE TICKET. Te Kulti, No?. 17. At a representative meeting of dairy farmers from Piopio, Aria, Waitete, Oparure, Kopaki, Rangitoto, Mokauiti, Mahoenui, Hangatiki and Waitomo. the following motion was unanimously carried: “That this meeting of suppliers of the northern portion of the King Country heartily approves of the candidates nominated by the Dairy Council for election to the Dairy Produce Control Board, and pledges itself to do everything in its power to secure the election of Messrs Grounds. Goodfellow, Motion, Forsyth, lorns and Dallrymple. MR McMILLAtf, M.P. NOMINATED. Tauranga, November 19. Bay of Plenty factories ha\e nominated Mr. O. E. McMillan. M.P., as a candidate for a seat on the Dairy Control Board. Thev consider the companies in South Auckland are entitled to representation outside of the N.Z. Dairy Company. Mr. McMillan has been very active in support of the Dairy Export Control Act.
