Air. AV. H. George, who is leaving Wellington, has presented to. the city a beautiful block of native bush, comprising 40 acres, as a scenic reserve. - ÜBum . A curious accident happened the other day in Oamaru, sajs the “Alail,” when a motor cyclist was travelling fairly fast during the thunderstorm. At the same moment as the very vivid lightning which occurred over 1 Oamaru the machine stopped dead, the magneto evidently having been affe t ed. In view of the German claim that - they are able to bring down French ' aeroplanes by stopping their magnetos, this incident is somewhat interesting. ' Various electrical experts state that it > is by no means uncommon for lightning to effect electri' al apparatus, but that ; this is the first occasion they know of ill which an enclosed magneto has been L thus affected. i 5 REAR BETTER CALVES. “CEREAIILK” has proved its super. . ionty on thousands of farms I “CEREMILK” is the milk of pure cereals, with a large amount of dried milk.
