ASPIRANTS FOR NOMINATION. New York, Nov. 15. Two official announcements of aspirants to the Presidency of the United States were made to-day, Mr. McAdoo stating that he will seek the Democratic nomination, and Senator Johnson, of California. Republican, when the party conventions mefet next June. -(A. and N.Z.) Mr. William Gibbs McAdoo was Secretary of the Treasury in President Wilson’s administration from 1913 to 1918. and Director-General of Railroads in 1917-18. He is a lawyer, and son-in-law of ex-President Wilson. ; Senator Hiram Johnson has been one of the most prominent members of the Republican party for some years, and : was one of the leading opponents to : America’s participation in the League ( of Nations. A message from Vancouver to Aus- - tralian papers last week said: Wise- ( acres claim, according to a message j from Washington, that there is a ( noticeable falling off in the booming of ( Mr. Henry Ford for the American Pre- , sidency. There is no outstanding , figure in either party, and the country J has hardly had time to size up Presi- j dent Coolidge.
