THE INCREASED PREFERENCE. (Received 17, 11.5 a.m.) LoUdon, Nov, 16. Commenting on the proposal to increase the preference to dominions wines, the “Wine Trade Review ’ ’ points out that the total wine importations amount to between eleven and thirteen million gallons annually, of which 6U0,000 to 800,000 gallons come from the dominions, but over 90 per cent of this quantity does not exceed thirty degrees alcoholic strength. Most of it is, in fact, below 28 degrees. Hence the proposed extended preference is not quite a militant sub-branch of the union to —(A. and N.'Z.)
